In 2023, we acquired a top-quality racing pigeon youngster, Ring NL2023-9087612 from J.J. van de Streek, a renowned Pigeon fancier in Elspeet, North Netherlands. At the same time, we also acquired a youngster cock with Ring NL2023-9087625 from a different line within J.J.'s loft.

Both pigeons participated in the 2023 youngster race and the 2024 yearling race, where they faced some of the most challenging conditions, including summer storms and heavy July rains. Remarkably, both pigeons consistently returned to the Apeldoorn loft after each race without fail. During the final 600km race, NL2023-9087625 suffered a serious injury to his leg and undercarriage. Despite being down for a time, he reappeared at the loft two days later, limping with a large open wound. After undergoing surgery from the Pigeon Vet, he made a full recovery. In recognition of his courage and determination to return to the loft despite his severe injury, we proudly award NL2023-9087625 a bravery award, along with a week of nice peanuts and other treats.
