Wendela Wiersema (Appingedam, NL), the ‘Queen of Speed’ in Dutch pigeon racing

Wendela already distinguished herself as a youth member and became National Champion several times. She continued this trend among the seniors and, at the age of 22, was already 9th Best Fancier in the Netherlands in the WHZB/TBOTB competition in 2018. The year before, she had already attracted attention with the title of 1st National Champion NPO Young Pigeons not-nominated. After that, there was something to celebrate every year at the national level, such as Best Youngster of the Netherlands '19 PIPA Ranking, 1st National Champion '21 Youngsters not-nominated , 1st Extra Final OLR Pattaya International Pigeon Race '24, 2nd Nat. Ace Pigeon Young Middle Distance PIPA Ranking '24, 8th Nat. Ace Pigeon Middle Distance '22, 6th Ace Pigeon PIPA '25, 13th Final Marismas Masters '25, etc... With all these successes, we must not forget Wendela's sister Elianne. She was named Best Young Fancier under 25 in both '22 and '23. 
As you have already read in the ‘Intro’ above, NL17-4708958 ‘Runner Up Ace’ in particular has made a significant mark on the successes of recent years. In 2017, he became 2nd National Ace Pigeon Youngsters NPO and, partly thanks to his contribution, Wendela became National Champion Young Pigeons NPO not-nominated that year. Now, eight years later, Wendela, with (grand)children of this phenomenon, is one of the speed players to beat in the regular programme and the OLR.
